Just short of another 4 hours before our departure time, and I wanted to
make sure you are all well informed of the logistics and plans.
WHEN: We are meeting at WFPC at 4:00 PM. We will pack the vans, say a quick
prayer with our parents and all, and hope to be on the road by 4:30PM. We
should be back home on Sunday around 4PM. We’ll call parents when we are
around 30 minutes away or before if we’re running much earlier or much
later.
CASH: You need to bring money to have dinner on the road on Friday and
lunch on Sunday. And a few dollars extra for drinks and snacks during
stops, purchases at the Massanetta or during our snacks or drinks during
our Saturday outings. No need to bring too much.
PACK:
The weather report for the moment is unfortunately not at all favorable
for winter sports (http://www.massresort.com/v.php?pg=17). So, plan for
rain, and if you’re skiing pack a bathing suit anyway in case we need to
make alternate plans. Bathing suits should be appropriately modest.
Girls please wear a one piece or a non-white t-shirt if you don’t have a
one piece. Remember even if others don’t dress as modest we are
representing WFPC – folks will know we’re a church group.
Clothes, etc. Warm clothes, sleeping clothes, towel, toiletries, shower
shoes, warm layers, a rain coat, gloves, hats, hand warmers, etc.
Bedding: You want to bring a sheet to cover the mattress, a sleeping bag
and a pillow.
Games: Bring some not so bulky board games. We’ll have time for games
both nights after our devotions.
Snacks: Bring whatever snacks you want for the rides and evenings.
Music: Those of you musically talented please bring your music and
instruments. We’ll count on you to lighten up our evenings with some
nice tunes.
Bible, notebook and pencil. Remember this is a retreat not just a ski
trip.
Please remember to bring any medication you may need in its original
container, and one of the advisors will be dispensing it per the parent’s
instructions. We’ll have first aid kits and headache medicines and the like
which can be provided as long as it has been approved in the medical form.
